My feelings towards the carpark has always been of mixed emotions.This is due to the activities that I did in the carpark like washing the car and chilling out with my car.This may sound weird but thats the way I felt when I was spending quality time with my car.

This piece of work is taken around the vicinity of my house. The environments that we always take for granted has been captured in an exploration if images and color balance that describes my feelings towards the environment at that time.

I took up interior designing in Nanyang Academy Fine Arts right after i completed my 'O' Level results. I had a very taxing and highly pressured life in Nanyang Academy Fine Arts but I totally enjoy it to the full limits.
During my stint in NAFA, I did a couple of freelance projects during the 3 years I was in NAFA.I gain lots of experience when I was in NAFA and I really wonder how it was like to graduate and finally work.After 3 years in NAFA, I graduated and went on to the working world which greet me with high pressure and very tight deadlines.Having always been under pressure to work inder tight deadlnes in NAFA, I was not shocked at the situation that greet me.
I spend 7 years working in the same company which gave lots of big opportunities right from being a junior designer untill I became a project executive handling commercial projects overseas. I handle most commercial projects that work with very tight deadline due to the rent that goes on while renovation works are on. It was very stressful but on the other side of me was feeling satisfied due to the perks offered during and on the job. However, ny first intention was still instill firmly in my mind that was to use my working experience as a stepping stone towards carving out a career in teaching and finally lecturing.
So after 7 years of ups and downs in my job and all the migranes and headaches acquired from the deadlines, I decide that its high time I pursue the next stage of my career that is teaching.I applied and was accepted and that was the start of the journey of learning in NIE and boy! it was fun.Hopefully, this journey of learning will give me fruitful results like what I acquire in my first career track.

Concept & Idea: Overlapping Images and Explorations of photography skills and techniques

"The things that we see are the things that are in us. There is no reality except for the reality we have within us. What makes the lives of most men so unreal is that they mistake the images outside them for reality and never let their own world speak."- Hermann Hesse
The seeking never stops, but the journey is a continual flow of images to be captured and shared. Immersed in the places, events and people who become my vision and help shape who I am, my images savor the mundane scenarios that drew me to fire those precise moments. I photograph images of various vicinites of the surroundings that are around us daily. The distortion is mobile and in many ways beyond the control of the individual. Overlapping images and in motion, the model is vulnerable. Subject to whatever impression the image creates. For all of its artifice and distortion, the final image is one of raw emotional truth.
In my photographs I am seeking answers to who I am and what I am to become in relation to how I put the overlapping images together. Through the photographs, I am also reconnecting to a part of myself that often gets buried underneath the hectic routines of everyday lives. We often take for granted the surroundings around us because it is there every day the moment we open our eyes. We know for sure that it will not disappear and always there to greet our sight.
Being a good artist means I must remain true to myself. Expressing to people who I am: my weaknesses, strengths and vulnerabilities. The most fulfilling aspect of being an artist is the opportunity to share it with others and loving it. To me, photography is a drug. And I know I’m addicted to it. But I don’t fight it because I can give it the euphemistic name ‘passion’…………………..
